Today, Changsha-zhuzhou-xiangtan Intercity Railway Transit equipped with Hua Qi PIS system of West Loop phase I project has officially came into trial operation. The west loop travels across Changsha and two cities of Xiangtan. It is placed with earnest hope of Hunan provincial Party committee and provincial government, and the great concern of citizens of two cities.  

The first phase of the West Loop of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway Transit starts from Xiangtan North Station of Shanghai-Kunming high-speed Railway and ends at Shantang Station of Changsha Metro Line No.3.The total length of the line is 17.29km, including Changsha section 10.17km, Xiangtan section 7.12km. There are 8 stations (2 interchange stations), including 4 underground stations and 4 elevated stations. Among them, there are 5 stations in Changsha section and 3 stations in Xiangtan section.

The West Ring Line of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway Transit shoulders important tasks. It is not only a landmark project of the "three trunk and two rails" project, but also an important support for constructing a half-hour traffic circle between Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan and promoting the integration of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan. It undertakes the important mission of optimizing the urban spatial layout, supporting the development of the west bank of the Xiangjiang River, promoting the development of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city cluster, and promoting the integrated development of regional economy and society.
